Wool has so many natural attributes that make it one of the most comfortable

Wool has so many natural attributes that make it one of the most comfortable, cozy and warm fabrics to wear. It’s environmentally friendly, durable, breathable, repels dirt, available in many weaves and styles and has been a popular choice for tailor fine fashions.

If not properly cared for, wool can shrink drastically and lose its original shape. Here are some tips for caring for your wool clothing and items:

  • Use a very mild wool detergent. Wool has natural oils, which is why it has so many excellent properties. You don’t want to strip it of these natural oils.
  • Wet clean your wool carefully by hand, or if you must use a washing machine, set it to the wool/hand washing setting.
  • Never leave you wool soaking in water
  • Squeeze out excess water with a towel – do not wring out your wool!
  • Reshape the garment and spread them out to dry on a flat surface so they keep their shape.

Some types of wool might start to pill over time. You can invest in devices that will remove the piling by shaving it gently like a razor. Use caution if doing this so you don’t damage your garment.
